Join us for an Unforgettable Life Time  Tanzania Safari !

Are safaris in Tanzania safe?
You bet they are. Tanzania is one of Africa’s most stable countries. You’ll be welcomed by its friendly people and always taken care of by attentive staff. After full days of wildlife viewing, rest up at handpicked camps and lodges, which offer authentic African charm and modern-day conveniences.
where do i spend the night?
Nights are spent on basic campsites inside the national parks or on the outskirts thereof. Clients are provided with spacious two-man dome tents (2.1 x 2.1 m) that are equipped with mosquito nets and comfortable 5 cm thick sleeping mats.
What Facilities are at the Campsites ?
The communal ablution facilities can be found on all campsites and are very clean. Most of them are very basic, the showers are cold showers though in the National park campsites but some of the campsites right next to the park have hot showers a swimming pool.
What do i need to pack for the safari?
Follow this link to see what you need to pack for your safari and if you will have further questions please feel free to contact us Tanzania Packing list(https://www.tanzania-expeditions.com/packing-list)
What kind of Vehicles do we use
We make use of reconstructed 4×4 safari vehicles (i.e. Toyota Landcruisers), that have been designed to conquer the ever demanding road conditions in East Africa. All vehicles have pop-up roofs that can be opened during game drives and a window seat is guaranteed for each guest. You may also choose to store smaller valuables in the Tanzania Expeditions office.
What meals are provided and what kind of food do i expect?
The tour is run on a full-board basis and meals are included as indicated in the itinerary. Mineral water is also provided, whereas all other beverages (soft drinks & alcohol) are excluded and on your own account. Breakfast can include eggs, sausages or bacon and toast and jam. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are also provided. Lunch-boxes are provided for lunch and are enjoyed en-route at a picnic spot. These usually contain sandwiches, boiled eggs and fruits or grilled chicken thighs. Dinner is freshly cooked and meals consist of meat or fish and some sort of starch (pasta, rice, mashed potatoes etc.) and vegetables. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements or food allergies and we will do our outmost to cater for them (only possible with advanced notification)
Do i need money while on Safari?
Yes, we suggest that you bring some spending money for drinks, snacks, souvenirs and tips. Please only bring USD bills that have been printed after 2004 as earlier dated bills will not be accepted.
Are tips Included in the package
Tips are not included in the price and we recommend 15-20 USD per group per day for the guide and 10-15 USD per group per day for the cook.
Do i need sunscreen while on safari
It is highly recommended that you bring your preferred form of sun protection while on safari. This can include SPF30 or higher sunblock, hats, sunglasses, and thin long-sleeve shirts and pants. Because Tanzania is close to the equator, UV rays are strong.
Where can i store my valuables while on safari?
Safaris are typically safe and you should not be overly concerned for safety of valuables. However, continue to practice normal precautions and do not flash and leave valuables out in the open. We strongly recommend that valuables which are not necessary for your trip should be left at home. You may also choose to store smaller valuables in the Tanzania Expeditions office.
What’s the weather like in Tanzania?
Tanzania’s climate is typically sunny, dry, and warm, though there are variations. December through March is warmer (70ºF - 80ºF) with a higher chance of occasional rain. May through November is cooler and drier (60ºF - 80ºF). April, like in North America, usually brings more rain.
Should i bring mosquito and bugs repellant?
It is strongly recommended that you bring your preference of insect or mosquito repellent. Especially in the early morning and evenings, mosquitoes can be present. Some flies and ticks can also be a nuisance depending on the geographical location.
Would you recommend malaria medication?
Yes, because malaria is common in East Africa. We recommend you consult your local travel clinic or personal physician for the most appropriate anti malaria medication for you. We also recommend you take some deet insect repellent.
What immunizations or shots are required?
Currently there are no immunization shots required in order to gain entry to the East African countries of Tanzania, Kenya or Uganda unless prior to your arrival you travel through countries that are infected with yellow fever, cholera or other diseases. However for accurate and the most up-to-date information, please visit the embassy web site for the countries you plan to visit.

Private Vehicles: No mixed groups, no competing for views with strangers, and no conflicting interests. With Tanzania Expeditions, you will enjoy the exclusive use of a private vehicle providing for maximum flexibility, comfort and wildlife viewing.

Sunrise Safaris: We offer early morning (before sunrise) game drives to witness the predators in action and also the herbivores in more active states. We’ll pack a picnic breakfast to enjoy in the pristine ambience of the bush while the package tours are having their ‘buffet’ meals back at the lodge or campsites.

Unlimited Game Drives: Each safari offers unlimited game drives with no mileage restrictions and exclusive access to the most secluded and wildlife abundant areas in Tanzania. Most other companies operate shorter, limited game drives and never end up making it far from the lodge – or the other tourists.

Personalized Experience: You are in complete control of when, where and how long you game drive, what animals you look for, how long you stay at each sighting and when you return – it’s all up to you. Professional Driver Guides: On safari you will receive complete and focused attention by your professional driver-guide, with the expert knowledge and skill required to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime.

Tanzania Specialists: We have chosen to specialize in Tanzania, which makes us experts in the local wildlife and regions, and allows us to create a special and unique experience for our clients (as opposed to other “generalist” companies offering standard tours to many different African countries).

Flexible Travel: By choosing Tanzania Expeditions, you have the luxury of setting your own agenda (with our help) and you won’t be shuffled through the rigid itineraries and fixed timetables that other companies often require you to adhere to.

Wildlife Viewing Maximized: All our itineraries are strategically designed on a monthly basis to take advantage of seasonal wildlife concentrations, and all safaris incorporate specific game drives to witness the great Wildebeest Migration.

Variety of Activities: Choose from a large selection of unique optional activities including authentic cultural tours, scenic flights, field talks, balloon safaris, bush picnics and walking safaris.

Safety: Your safety is of ultimate importance, as well as your comfort and peace of mind. We have an office in Tanzania to support all segments of your trip, and all safaris are 100% escorted and chauffeured from arrival to departure.

The Ultimate Safari Destination: Tanzania boasts unparalleled concentrations of wildlife – there is no country that can compete with the sheer number and density of wild animals. Tanzania is home to the great migration and more national parks than any other African county – including two of the most renowned wildlife parks in the entire world. It is also a politically stable and safe country with gracious people and little crime.
